Serving Refugees, New Americans, and Immigrants in Adult Education PLC
This PLC will connect adult education practitioners (regional specialists, ESOL coordinators, instructors, tutors, etc.) who are serving or expect to serve the refugee, new American, and/or immigrant populations to discuss strategies and resources for working with these learners.

Thursday, Jan. 26: Cultural competence for working with diverse adult learners
Thursday, Feb. 23: Instruction: Literacy at all levels and balancing learner goals
Thursday, March 23: Culturally responsive practices and an asset-based approach to support diverse learners
Thursday, April 27: Trauma-informed care and social-emotional learning
This PLC will meet monthly from January - April 2023. Each session will take place on a Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30 PM via Zoom and will include 2-3 hours of asynchronous work per month, such as watching recorded webinars, reading articles, reviewing instructional toolkits, responding to reflection questions, applying content to the classroom, etc.
